Audio Book After All (Cape Harbor) with Free PDF EDITION!

I read this book not knowing anything about the author or having read her previous books, and the one thing that kept coming to mind again and again was this: this reads as though it was written by a teenager with no exposure to ‘real’ life. The fact that the main character raised her teenage daughter in hotel rooms across the country and homeschooled her and never had a home base just did not ring true, especially while working demanding hours at various jobs - no school to babysit her while you’re on construction sites and doesn’t seem as though she’s ever had friends! More so, it smacked of bad parenting and I couldn’t believe no character had an issue with that. The teenage daughter in question was written more like an 8-year-old and her character was not well developed. It is quite repetitive and a real struggle to read the book. Every time I saw some of the characters names - ‘Brystol’ and ‘Bowie’ - I wanted to roll my eyes, the only character with a common name was the dog. There were a lot of plot holes that just didn’t add up - the owners of the inn were apparently rich... from what? Fishing? Owning a small town inn? The basic premise of the story had potential, but I just couldn’t get past the poorly developed characters and the Mary Sue like qualities of the main character.
